Here lieth interrd the Body of
Edward son of William & Mary
Bucknall who departed this life February 11th 1774 aged 20
The mourning parents in Token of their Grief
and Affections as well as in Memory of his
Fillial Piety and amiable deprtment
caused the following lines to be inscribed
A sable Garb dark look and doleful Show
Are only ceremonial Forms of Woe
But thou O much loved Youth although this??
?? the World know there once lived??
If thy Immortal Post canb stoop so low
Accept this Tender tribute we bestow
This stone the fading Monument may prove??
An outward Mark of our surviving love
A noble tombstone on our heart is laid
There shall thy lovely image never fade.
